The Confessions of Emily Rose, Plot

Emily Rose is a 18 year old girl who has experienced a lot of domestic violence throughout her childhood, as she has grown up with seeing her mom and dad argue and not acknowledge anything she does in her life, she reached the age of 17 and wanting to leave, not caring what can happen she leaves home and ends up moving from different flats where she has used her savings to keep a roof over her head, the story will start with her with no money and just been kicked out of her rented room, after leaving ruff for a year she has meet a lot of people, one included Jo who she has hung around with for a while, unfortunately Jo has come dependent on drugs and has wrapped Emily into it, now both girls are users of drugs. Not knowing what she is doing she meets a supplier called Daniel, he is nice to her but as she isn’t herself at the moment she gets wrapped in.

The story has a thought tracking theme to it, and Emily is the person that the story focuses on, we are placed in her life at a moment in time, but as she is speaking to the audience we get to know her past and have the ’flash backs’ of her past as well as her thoughts of the present.

Radio 4's Christmas Appeal

Radio 4 have set up an appeal to help homeless and vulnerable people all over the UK.
This shows that the issue of homeless people is being raised a lot more and needs more awareness to the public, this benefits me because its the right market to place a radio play about a homeless and vulnerable person in because more radio stations especially radio 4 will be interested in my radio play.

Also because of the appeal more people will be intrigued into the situation and will want to understand more about peoples lives and how and why they get into theses situations, because my radio play focuses on one person and their live and is also a drama then this can appeal much more to a larger target audience.
The charity that is involved with radio 4's appeal is st martin in the fields, they have set up a charity to help homeless people all over the UK. On their website there is pictures and stories about homeless people, by having this upon the website makes more people aware of peoples situations and also its makes it more global.

This is a link to the charity that helps children who live in poverty, whilst looking on this website I could see that a lot of children can be effect by their family's and that there is some help for these children.

Also whist researching my chosen idea I come up with a name for this text:
'The Confessions of Emily Rose"
I thought of this name because the main character Emily Rose is telling her life to the audience of what happened and why she is in the situation she is but also what is going on know in her life.
